We’ve all written our fare share of Hello Worlds over our careers. It’s fast, it’s easy and its the entry point for much greater things. Now it’s time for a little quiz:

Helloworldquiz is a fun application that displays the necessary lines of code to produce a ‘Hello World’ and requires the user to name the language of the code. Some are pretty obvious, others are less known and some are just trolling (aka LOLCODE)
I am not a programmer. What’s “Hello World”?
If you know what a “Hello World” program is, then the articles stops for you. If on the other hand you are not so tech-savvy allow me explain.
A “Hello World” program is a computer program that simply prints the words “Hello World” on a device. It is typically the most rudimentary program in all but a few programming languages and by tradition it is used to teach the basic syntax of a language. It is also used to verify that a language or system is working correctly.
A “Hello World” program in general, is simple enough so that people with no experience can easily comprehend it. Using this program as foundation, computer science principles or aspects of a programming language are explained to novice programmers.
Hackers occasionally use “Hello world” programs to prove that code can be executed through the exploitation of security holes in systems that they don’t have access to.
